Oberpollinger Departmenstore, Munich

I have always been thinking that in Germany there are no good department stores, but my trip to Munich yesterday could eliminate this stereotype... at least a little.
Admireing Galeries Lafayettes, Le Bon Marché, Harrods or Bloomingdales I become so jealous that we can't have such an amazing store in Germany.
But I think there is a change going on in Germany with the "Karstadt Premium Group" one of the stores beloning to this affiliation in called "Oberpollinger" in Munich. In the entrance area some famous luxury labels offer accessoires in little shops, including Dior, Tod's, Fendi, Gucci, Miu Miu, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Mont Blanc, Salvatore Ferragamo. Conntected to this you will find an amazing huge beuaty department including Bobbi Brown, Kanebo, Estée Lauder, La mer and many more.
On the fashion levels are just the normal things sold, but also what made me really surprise they offer Céline, Hervé Léger, Alberta Ferretti, Escada, Max Azira and Valentino. The variety of the pieces sold from these labels isn't huge but at least it is something.
So all in all, Germany definitely hasn't reached yet the level of Paris or London, but I was really astonished and think it is a good beginning. In addtion I have found a fantasitc pair of Ferragamos!!!!!!! I like them so much!!!!

Salzburg

Yesterday, I have been to Salzburg, a little city in Austria. You might maybe know it from the film"The Sound of Music". The center is really beautiful with all its old little houses and small streets.
Considering that Salzburg is not a big city, there are really quite wide range of good shops including a really wonderful ESCADA boutique offering quite a lot of these amazing evening dresses, a little Hermès, a Bally store, a small Louis Vuitton bouitque. The most ineresting local store however is"Madl" selling traditional Austrian clothes, the so called "Dirndl" for example, which are really portable and chic and don't make you look ridiculous. In addtion Austrian "Haute Couture" is offered there, too. "Madl" boutique

As the world famous classical music festival is hold in these days, it is very interesting to look at the people when they enter the concert hall. Regarding the high prices of the tickets you might expect that the visitors are wealthy enough to afford the best dresses and suits. It is true, I have seen a lot of very well dressed people, but definitely not all!!! There were really numerous people dressed like a catastrophe!!!!

autumn/winter collections: Balenciaga

After the autumn/winter looks were presented in March during Paris Fashion Week,
I am sooooo happy that these collections will be available in boutiques from now on!!
As I saw what Nicolas Ghesquière has designed for Balenciaga in March, I
became totally a fan of Balenciaga. It was among all the other designers really
one of my favourite.
There is some color in the collection, but very soft, so the looks became quite light
and seem to symolize a little hope against the financial crisis what is especially very
important in the cold and dire season. Additonally the new type of skirt made of wrapped
silk, so there originate folds makes it even more soft.

This is my favourite look. Thank you so much Nicolas Ghesquière!!!!

handle travelling, arts and lifestyle in general, too.
So I hope you will have great pleasure when reading my
blog and I would be very happy about any comment of you.
